About Vatant

Maps have always been the source of my love for history. As a history and politics buff, I have spent hours looking at maps and wondering how differently the world could have turned out in the past or what changes could happen in the future. This project of collecting and inferring data from around the globe began in the summer of 2023 as a way to get people thinking about borders drawn a century ago and imagine something beyond them into Borders.

There are many parts of the world where the government does not provide any demographic data. If you know a certain region well and would like to contribute to this project by offering insights on ethnic data, linguistic data, religious data, or related topics (or you notice any errors), please contact Vatant at info@vatant.com.
